Mushroom Infused Suckers
Mushroom-infused suckers are hard candies designed to provide a slow, sublingual (under-the-tongue) delivery system that completely masks the bitter, earthy flavor of mushrooms with sweet or sour fruit profiles.
Suckers are manufactured by heating sugars, corn syrup, and water to the "hard crack" stage (approximately 149°C / 300°F). Because active psychoactive compounds like psilocybin begin to degrade under sustained high heat, manufacturers must wait for the molten candy to cool slightly before folding in the specialized mushroom extracts, concentrates, or finely pulverized powders. Once mixed, the liquid candy is poured into silicone molds with a stick inserted and left to harden.
